That's true. But how much water is in the washing machine that you need a pump (there is a water stopper in the inlet hose, after all)? There can only be a lot of water if the pipe is defective. And that happens to you just the same in the bathroom and kitchen – but there you don't have a sump. And if it really bubbles up, so much water comes out there that the pump won't help you much either. So do it like everyone else. Forget the sump.

Hm. To be honest, I also don’t see any point in such a recess if there is no slope. We equipped our laundry room with two drains in the floor from the start AND of course incorporated the corresponding slope. That way, we can also spray out coarse dirt with the water hose; of course, the squeegee is used afterwards. At my mother-in-law’s, there has been water in the basement a few times for various reasons. But even there, the approach is rather pragmatic, as the water distributes quite well – they simply take out the wet vacuum and suck up the puddles. I wouldn’t see any advantage in a depression in the floor, into which the water would first have to be pushed. I would save myself the effort.

Above all: in a 12-liter (!) basin - even if it would meet the noble idea in principle would, certainly not in terms of dimension.

Hello Bernd

get yourself a 40mm Styrodur board from the building supplier, a long straight piece of metal (similar to a ruler) and a cutter. Then cut out your measurement and give it to the screed layer. together with a 5 Euro note. He will cut out the recess from the screed for you.
