Sorry, I haven't quite got the hang of quoting on that yet!

Hi. If you have to pay 400€ for 1.5cm more, that’s pure rip-off!! Did I understand that correctly? If you should have a decent construction manager, that cannot be an issue for him at all. Do you think the carpenter will get 350€ more then? No no...

Hi Homi, no, not for 1.5cm, but for about 15cm! He calculates the roof overhang on the eaves side as about 65cm, which is stated in the construction service description, from the outside of the masonry exterior wall made of KS 24, excluding ETICS and plaster mesh, which still need to be applied (about 15cm)! These 15cm are then missing from the overhang. That’s what I don’t understand, because according to his argument, I could also demand that the built house has the dimensions stated in the purchase contract. Best regards, Marco

That is nonsense. The external dimensions (which hopefully are specified) of a building are the external dimensions(!!!), i.e. it is completely irrelevant whether it is monolithic or not. I think the definition of outside is clear.

Thank you, I see it the same way, but I was somehow unsure whether my point of view was correct. I will contact our contact person again tomorrow during the day and ask for clarification. The external dimensions are stated in the contract. Today I even googled the definition of "Dachüberstand" and found the following text (which also matches my personal definition):

“The roof overhang is understood to be the part of the roof that protrudes beyond the exterior wall of a building.” as well as “The roof eave or roof overhang is, according to the definition, the part of the roof surface that extends beyond the intersection line of exterior wall and roof surface (possibly including gutter).”

So, all clear.
