Hello,

first of all, I am new here and would like to introduce myself briefly :)

My name is Patrick, I am 41 years old and come from near Ulm. We have built (or rather) it is still ongoing and now the first questions are slowly coming up. And no, the picture is not our house, but it roughly goes in that direction ;)

As I said, I am new, so please be patient if some forum rules are not yet familiar to me :)))

We are currently working on the outdoor area and in this context our neighbors approached us to ask if they could place an L-stone on our property so that they can use their property better.

This means, in the end, that they would like the L-part / foot about 50cm (?) to stand on our property so that they could dig the earth exactly on the property boundary. Instead of simply going 50cm further onto their own side, they would like to shift the whole thing 50cm onto our side. To me, this means the neighbor effectively gains 0.5m, we lose it and the foundation will be concreted on our property. It wouldn’t really be a drama, but we don’t really get along well with this neighbor (he also formulated his request as a demand) and I am wondering what the long-term consequences would be if we agree. Problems when reselling? At the spot where his foundation is poured, we can no longer dig to level our terrain. Not an issue at the moment, but what if later? The city also wants us to register something on site (whatever that may be). Probably that we have approved it.

What would you do?

Thank you for your opinion

Two questions come to mind for me initially:

1) Whose property retains the original ground level?

2) Can you provide us with a cross-sectional sketch? Do I understand correctly that he wants to relinquish his property and, for that, would like to extend the L-shaped stone with the base onto your property and then fill up to the edge again on your side?

Hi!

Regarding 1, it is the north side for us, so we will probably not touch it for now and keep the natural terrain there.

Regarding 2: exactly like that!
