At least one risk. Who maintains the stones, who replaces them if necessary and bears the associated costs, who bears damages that could (in)directly arise from the stones or the installation of the stones. This requires a contract and an easement, right?! And of course a price.

I have never seen it that way before. I’m not familiar with it, but if we had a great connection with the neighbor, I would tell myself that there’s always a solution. But I don’t feel comfortable about it. And he’s putting pressure on us like: just because we don’t know what we want (whether to dig where the foundation should be someday or not) he can’t place an L stone on the boundary. He can’t wait three years until we figure it out. And legally, he’s allowed to put the L stone on the boundary... I don’t know, someone who comes across like that when you first meet them doesn’t seem trustworthy to me.

What does the legal regulation say? 50cm distance from the boundary or how would he have to do it then?

Ask him if he's still all there ...? Rhenish regards

Sorry, but if the neighbor comes at you with nonsense, he can just do whatever he wants on his property. He can also achieve his solution without your involvement, it just costs more.

Otherwise, I would probably not be willing to make concessions, not even in exchange for something, because then you are always obligated.
