I have a question regarding the building inspection, who has to apply for a building inspection, the architect or the client?

The thing is, I have been living in the house for about 6 months and the day before yesterday the final invoice from the architect arrived, with the motto you are already living in it so the building inspection is done.

There are still a few defects in the house that did not prevent moving in, e.g. wrong front door delivered (still waiting for the new one), no hydraulic balancing done, etc., so actually nothing serious.

I would be very glad to receive an answer.

Thank you very much

Best regards

Moving in means something like tacit acceptance.

Defects must be remedied anyway.

How it is with an architect, I don't know. In our case, it was the general contractor who offered the appointment for the handover...

If the defects were not reported, he might be stuck with them.

You have 4 years of warranty according to VOB or 5 years according to the Building Code.

However, if nothing is reported, then nothing happens :D You are right about that.
