Hello forum friends,

We like our Q2 plastering on the ground floor quite a lot, so we only want to paint it.
Nevertheless, I am concerned about our roller shutter boxes from the inside, as the plasterer skipped them.
In our construction service description it says: Q2, ready for wallpapering.

Does that mean that the roller shutter boxes made of plastic are not plastered???
If we had known that...

How is it with you???

Hello Yvonne,

From where is the inspection opening to be operated? From the front or from below at the window element?

Rhenish greetings

Hello Martina,

can you see that? How can you see that? I have to check...

Thank you very much, Martina, for the example photos and the effort.

But I’m stuck and will probably ask the site manager whether this is now "ready for wallpaper" and would look different if we had chosen Q4.

With us, as you can see, the windows including the roller shutter boxes were installed - they were finished, neat in white plastic... nice in the shell construction - only the plastic, of course, doesn’t look very homely with the plaster around it.
There is nothing about that in the BB...

Good evening Yvonne,

This has nothing to do with the quality levels; these refer to interior plaster and drywall work.

Here is just the description of Q4 as an example:

Quality Level Q4

Quality level Q4 includes all executions of quality level Q3 as well as an additional full-surface reworking of the surface with a suitable filler material. In connection with quality level Q4, flatness tolerances with increased requirements must be contractually agreed.

Execution:

    [*]Works of quality level Q3

[*]Repeated full-surface coating and smoothing of the entire surface with a suitable filler material (layer thickness > 1 mm)

Application Examples:

[*]Smooth wall coverings and coatings with gloss, e.g. metal, vinyl or silk wallpapers

[*]Glazes or coatings up to medium gloss

    [*]Filling and smoothing techniques

A surface treatment of quality level Q4, which meets high requirements, minimizes the possibility of markings on boards and/or joints. Basically, the surface is influenced by daylight or artificial lighting. Absolute shadow freedom with oblique light cannot be achieved. The lighting conditions as intended for later use must be known. Ideally, they should already be set up at the time of filling. Furthermore, the practical on-site limits of execution must be observed. Surfaces that appear absolutely even and shadow-free even under the influence of oblique light cannot be crafted by hand. In individual cases, it may be necessary, in connection with coating and adhesive work, to take further measures, e.g. multiple filling and sanding, to prepare the surface for the final coating, e.g. for glossy coatings, paints or foil wallpapers. In these individual cases, it is recommended that the final layer beyond Q3 be applied by the specialist contractor who applies the final coating.

I see the problem rather in whether there is enough filler on the roller shutter box (unfortunately I can’t see this in the photos) and if so, how the connection to the surrounding interior plaster is to be ensured...

Write me what came out of your conversation. Until then, I keep my fingers crossed that there is a satisfying solution for you.

Rhenish regards

Good morning,

Yes, I am aware that this refers to the quality of the surface plasters. But if BU offers "ready to wallpaper," then he can say: "why plaster, there will be wallpaper over it anyway, if you (meaning me) don’t want that, then you should have chosen Q4. But the box will be covered by wallpaper anyway."

according to the construction service description: gypsum plaster as a single-layer machine plaster with a wallpaper-ready surface (Q2) ...

Regarding the lining or anything else: the building expert had no complaints

I will keep you informed about what comes of this... somehow these things keep making me more and more frustrated and
this thread is supposed to show what little things you have to pay attention to or what kind of nonsense the money flows into, which was nowhere planned in advance!

Many thanks,
Yvonne wishes you a nice day
