Hello everyone,

we still have 1 year of warranty left before the 5-year period expires.
Now a pull cord of the blind has torn and it moves up/down crookedly.

Our developer refuses any warranty as it is a movable part.
Repair including disassembly etc. is supposed to cost around 600 euros.

Now the questions to you. Isn't something like this covered by the warranty/guarantee of the developer?
We had it built turnkey.

Thanks in advance

Yes, I think he is excluded from that, it is a wear part like the brakes on a car. You don’t get them replaced either.

600 euros for a train part I consider a rumor. But still wear and tear

A movable part means something different ^^ movable is what is not fixed to the house and not that you can move it, for example (here pull it). A blind clearly belongs to the permanent part of the house, since you do not take it with you when you move out. Whether a pull cord is a wear part is first of all doubtful. If it were a wear part, it would have to be designed so that replacement can be carried out easily and cheaply.

ps: this is also one of the reasons why blinds are not opened/closed by hand but everyone installs them electrically

What kind of blind are we talking about here? It must be quite a size, right? Or is it a venetian blind?

Tell that to the car industry. Keyword car lamps in some models.

Most people I know have electric roller shutters, or sometimes venetian blinds; with electric blinds, it is already very scarce.

Meanwhile, it has been prescribed by directive for several years now that the light bulbs can be replaced without much fuss. This does not apply to xenon and LED...

You are right about the blinds. I was thinking of the part integrated firmly into the house here and not the "pleated blind" hanging on the window at a price of 600€. As has been mentioned a trillion times, a picture says more than 1000 words. If the part is not a fixed component of the house, it is not subject to the 5-year warranty anyway. A "pleated blind" or similar is not firmly connected, as you can simply take it with you. No one takes a roller shutter or venetian blind with them...
