I think it's time for you to roughly involve us in your thoughts with a sketch.
So, please don’t laugh yourselves to death over the quality of the sketch, it’s just supposed to convey the idea—we are looking at the upper floor. The attic (one level above) we also want to design similarly, just with sloping ceilings and a smaller bathroom (shower only). The staircase will of course look different, but I’ve been using the software for only 30 minutes!
Motivation in the floor plan:
Either the children move into the attic and have peace from us, or—and we will see then—we put the bedroom and study into the attic. Of course, we will have some difficulty with partition walls in the attic due to the sloping ceilings; it will probably come down to built-in wardrobes. For this reason, on the north side of the upper floor there are no windows in the rooms; the stairwell will get either two small or one elongated window. Guests should stay in the finished basement with "real" daylight; it is a slight slope location.
So, how bad do you think it is? ;)
What can be improved?
