In my opinion, a sliding door is not always practical; it depends on the width of the door. With a width of 2m, the passage is no longer that large if you need to carry large furniture or similar items through the door. With a normal door, you almost have the full 2m width. And the additional costs are also not insignificant. Of course, it also depends on the type. A parallel tilt-and-slide door is cheaper than a lift-and-slide door. If there is a table near the door, so that a normal door could cause space problems, a sliding door would be an option. But it varies on a case-by-case basis.
