Hello,

I am planning to replace an old oil heating system with a heat pump and at the same time replace the old radiators with underfloor heating.

Now I am finding contradicting opinions everywhere about whether the underfloor heating must have individual room control or not to be eligible for funding.
One energy consultant says yes, the other says no.

What is your opinion on this? Actually, I do not want to install individual room control because, according to the heating engineer, it does not make much technical sense, but the most important thing for me is that the funding is accepted.

Do I have to install individual room control in order to receive funding for underfloor heating and heat pump?

Thank you very much!

In 2020, that was not yet the case - but such things can change.

I am not allowed to refer to websites here in the forum. But there is a very good place in this world where you can read about the funding conditions. Completely free from forum opinions and the like. And this place can also be easily found electronically and is named pretty much the same as the one that pays the funding. The documents found there are (which was also surprising to me back then) written in understandable language and in the end also offer examples and lists.

(phew, this is exhausting when you want to avoid warnings...) ;-)

Furthermore, you can have a calculation of the room-specific heating load including the heating system design done by an approved engineering firm to get rid of the useless parts. That costs less than a tenth of the ERR and is therefore well worth it. But of course, you only do this if it has by now also become mandatory for old buildings.

In the Building Energy Act, there is a clear maybe. And the funding is based on that. Yes, it is required, but also no, because you can be exempted.

At Ingenieurbüro Heckmann there is a standard letter for exemption from ERR
