At least model number etc., or in the manual / technical data. Aunt Google helps then as well. If it is such old technology, then the following applies to you: Not due to the existing residential regulation, as the Energy Saving Ordinance states: For residential buildings with no more than two apartments, one of which is owner-occupied by the owner as of February 1, 2002, the obligations according to paragraphs 1 to 3 must only be fulfilled by the new owner in the event of a change of ownership after February 1, 2002. The deadline for compliance is two years from the first ownership transfer. In other words, only if your boiler is either this or that:
[*]a low-temperature boiler, a boiler that can be continuously operated with a flow temperature of 35 to 40 degrees Celsius and in which condensation of the water vapor contained in the flue gases can occur under certain circumstances [*]a condensing boiler, a boiler designed for the condensation of a large part of the water vapor contained in the flue gases
Otherwise, according to the current Energy Saving Ordinance, the boiler replacement is mandatory for you in 2025.

I just went down to check again. The word [Brennwertkessel] etc. is at least not written like that.

Heating boiler according to DIN 4702
Type G115-21
Manufacturer number 08186055-02-015830
Construction number 06-226-352
DIN Reg number 3 R 054/92
Thermal output 17-21 kW
Thermal load 18.4-23.0 kW

For steam drum type, nothing is written

If he is controlled by the outside temperature after the conversion, it is not a constant temperature boiler. That means you don't have to replace it. Don't let yourself be driven crazy.

Do you mean by conversion the replacement of the controller?

But even if we do not "have to": is the risk not high that a boiler of 23 years and age will fail on its own?

I am curious about the legal part, how an outdoor temperature sensor manages to create a condensing boiler, or rather then makes the system low temperature?

And only these two technologies are currently excluded. By the way, the law itself does not mention constant temperature boilers that fall under the 30-year obligation.

Incidentally, replacing the boiler is not the end of it. In almost all cases, the chimney also needs to be modified when switching to low temperature.
