As has unfortunately become a good tradition in recent years, the press is once again one-sidedly attacking the "evil" banks here.
I seriously wonder by now why banks in Germany are obviously the only companies that are supposed to be ashamed of making adequate profits.
When I buy a new car, whether from VW, Opel, Mercedes, Audi, or even Porsche, I pay fees for delivery or factory pickup. Why does no one demand that these fees have to be included in the price right away?
The baker and the butcher in town also earn (with decent quality) not badly - who is calling for a price limit on steaks and rolls?
Undeniably, some banks (but only certain departments there) have not exactly covered themselves in glory in recent years, but in my opinion it is absolutely wrong to condemn the entire industry based on these misdeeds (which I do not want to gloss over - action had to be taken).
It may sound provocative, but Germany can be glad that during the last economic crisis at least some credit institutions still earned money and paid taxes accordingly - otherwise, things would look very different in our country today.
