With a development plan, one can understand why the others build 2 floors here.
My father-in-law keeps nagging us to put the terrace on the south side. But there we don’t have a nice view; at best, we can look at the neighbor’s propane tank.
Always build the terrace where you have the most sun during the day and especially in the evening.
Always build several terraces... One for the south sun, one for the view - problem solved.
I like the openness downstairs. I would consider completely removing the upper room "Essen2" and replacing it with an open space. The upper hallway would become a nice gallery. Pure emotion and completely wasted space - on the other hand: Would the "built" space have a practical use for you?
