I think with 9-12U you will easily manage. You don’t have to overdo it. For example, you can (and should) mount the power strip on the rear mounting rail, so it doesn’t take up any U "in the front". I’m more looking at the depth of the cabinet and the spacing of the mounting rails so that a short server case can fit in there. Bought NAS systems are child's play ...

The Fibaro Homecenter will probably get a place on the network cabinet so that you have reception with Z-Wave. My razberry is also on the network cabinet - unfortunately no reception inside the cabinet... The fibaro box can probably be mounted on the wall like a Fritzbox, then it also looks quite okay.

The Fibaro Box can safely be kept in the closet, it's the same with a colleague, no reception difficulties to be observed. It has plenty of power! Currently it's on the second floor, first actuator on the ground floor... No problems

We have a 9U cabinet. Depth was also important because of the NAS later. I mounted it on the panel inside the cabinet, but not with LSA+ connectors, rather with Keystone modules.

Oh, and you have pneumatic tube system as well?

P.S.: Cable entry from above = patch panel + switch above

My servers that I install daily are well over a meter long. And I wouldn't know why a NAS device shouldn't be sufficient for home use.
