I have a similar problem: My wife really wants a gable roof with a low knee wall because she likes it so much. Unfortunately, I don't think much of it because, in my eyes, it's just wasted space; moreover, she wants a visible roof truss --> room heights of 4.5 m. The development plan allows gable roofs with 28°-38°, 2 full floors, as well as a wall height of 6.00 m; shed roofs, staggered shed roofs, and hipped roofs would also be allowed, so basically quite a lot is possible if you had a wife who cooperated. Now I at least got my wife so far that we are planning a fairly high knee wall, we were thinking about 1.40 - 1.50 m. The problem is: I can't fit normal windows or (decent) roof windows in, and I also don't want both long sides full of dormers. What would be the most sensible under the given circumstances, to go for a low knee wall to be able to install roof windows after all? Best regards, Sebastian

Hello!

No, the most sensible thing is 2 full floors!

Otherwise: I assume you can't embroider, knit, crochet..... like most men.
Do you consider it conceivable that most women can't plan?

My wife has contributed quite a bit to the object - it was always pretty, very expensive, and not necessarily sensible!
The interesting thing is: YOU are to blame afterwards!

Let your wife decide the bathroom colors, the wallpapers, the stairs - but nothing that affects the floor plan etc. of the house!

Best regards,
Tomtom.

Hi,

With you, everything is still traditional. Your wife cooks and you go hunting

Then YOU probably had the weaker arguments before

So generally I don’t think women can’t plan, I rather think they have the necessary sensitivity for that. Only maybe my wife doesn’t, however, she can also neither embroider, knit nor crochet. The problem is just that we have already deviated from her ideas in many points, and I don’t want to contradict her everywhere. Where possible I try to reasonably argue towards a solution, but what can you argue against: "I like it better this way"? =)

Morning!

@E.Curb: Yep, drill rifle!

Otherwise, the only thing that helps is to visit a corresponding house INSIDE. My wife, for example, was cured when we looked at a property with 4 gable dormers (in all directions) – that’s what you call super-slant!

Or buy her a tall shoe cabinet that doesn't fit into the slope.

Regards,
Tomtom.

That was also my plan and we have already been to two model home communities, I thought I could make her like a shed roof or tent/hip roof, unfortunately it only made the situation worse Maybe she will soften up sometime, after all it worked back then when we got together
