Hello Yvonne,

I have compared land prices in the nearby area. These range between 200 and 250 EUR / m². In my calculation, I assumed the lower amount. The value probably has to be determined by an appraiser for the bank in the course of the financing, right?

Thank you very much for the hints! It is also not planned that she will work full-time again. Part-time, however, is planned.

Regarding the composition of the income planning:

Currently:
I net 2800.00 EUR
She net 2050.00 EUR
Total: 4850.00 EUR

With child on parental leave (in earliest 9 months :
I net 2950.00 EUR (the salary increase is certain)
She net parental allowance 1350.00 EUR (approx. 65 %) + 184.00 EUR child benefit
Total: 4484.00 EUR

And what happens after parental leave? A year goes by quickly and a place for under three-year-olds in kindergarten or a Lenagruppe probably costs a significant triple-digit amount per month given the income.

Just for your information.

Grandma and Grandpa are there after all

A child does above all one thing: everything differently.

Yes, an exciting phase. After parental leave, my wife started a new job on a 30-hour basis, which she does from home – and earns more than before, and our daughter can stay shorter in daycare. With luck, the income can even get better.

The rule is different, however

can and luck... double subjunctive... will almost certainly not happen. At least it is not the rule. There are still enough companies where maternity leave and parental allowance go hand in hand with salary cuts, even if no company admits it.

Exceptions prove the rule, but most of the time it is the case that afterwards (in whatever form) it is worse or at best the same.
