Freely from engineering studies: design systems and processes to be as robust as possible. That also means trying to avoid possible sources of error due to faulty construction already during the design phase. But well, engineers don’t design houses, architects do – I guess that’s why they usually don’t look like grandma’s block house from the 50s ;)

As the construction expert already wrote: "If the position of the gutter is sealed according to the regulations, no problems should be expected here." This gutter is certainly no earth-shattering novelty. Sure, it is somewhat more complex than the standard solution (metal gutter hung in front of the roof), but in terms of leakage it is no more critical than a flat roof. Such roofs are, among other things, designed for standing water (casually & briefly put).

Do you happen to have a picture of something like that? So far, I only know of external roofs. :p
