Hello everyone, I have a photovoltaic system on the roof and a corresponding battery. I originally signed my contract through Sonnen, so I also have a Sonnen battery storage. Meanwhile, I'm not so sure anymore if Sonnen is the right choice for me. I do have a free electricity allowance (which also gets smaller each time), I have a monthly installment, and I also submit my EEG to Sonnen. I'm not a super genius, but the simple back-of-the-envelope calculation makes me believe that I would be better off elsewhere. Does anyone have experience with canceling Sonnen in favor of another provider? Are there problems with the battery since it is from Sonnen? Will I continue to use the Sonnen app, or will the app from the other provider get the information from the Sonnen battery? I would like to switch to a dynamic electricity provider. So if anyone has experience, please enlighten me. Many thanks in advance.

Your simple milkmaid calculation is very likely correct. Many of these contracts were sold with the technically convoluted logic that you would "get your" electricity back and that it would therefore be cheap.

What exactly do you mean by provider?
How you can cancel and what exactly you are cancelling is stated in your contract.

You are in danger of falling for the next sales trend. A dynamic tariff becomes a cost trap as soon as a few people in the household do not think about electricity consumption and use consumers at the wrong time with the wrong intensity. To my knowledge, you have a purely DC-coupled battery that offers you no buffering effect in winter at all.
Dynamic tariffs can be great, but can also turn into a financial fiasco.

Benben79 probably means by dynamic provider any other electricity provider that currently has good prices...
