We still have a cistern, so directing water directly into the sewer system is not necessary. A gutter in front of the house has already been considered if we don’t build a step. I would decide exactly how once the shell construction is finished and I can see the site with the house. It’s quite different from the plan after all. A gutter at the patio door is definitely still planned, even though it is less problematic from the site’s perspective.
For the driveway, we tried to keep it relatively small. After all, it is also an area that has to be paved expensively and with effort. And pulling the carport nicely forward also has the advantage that I can place the garden shed and the trailer (with my catamaran) behind it.
One question I still have is about joint width and porous stones. Since I’m not a fan of wide joints, I would tend to stick to 5mm, which is enough for most stones to be considered "permeable." How much difference does a wider joint make? And how much do permeable pores in the paving stones make in comparison?
