Pay for geothermal deep drilling immediately or after acceptance by the heating technician?

Hello,

I am currently a bit confused about when it would be sensible to pay the deep drilling company in order to avoid conclusive acceptance.

Situation:

[*]Deep drilling for the geothermal heat pump successfully installed, ball valve fittings installed in the technical room
    [*]Invoice is available
[*]Connection of the heating system and thus checking whether the probes function correctly is only possible in a few weeks due to drying of screed, completion of heating system, etc.

How should I sensibly proceed regarding payment?

[*]Pay immediately with the risk that the warranty period starts without the possibility of full acceptance by the heating installer, or
[*]Down payment 80%, remaining 20% after acceptance
    [*]Alternative?

Thank you very much!
Peter.

What have you agreed upon?

One-sided decisions will probably lead to discussions with the drilling crew.

What do you intend to identify as defects with the connected [WP] that would simultaneously be relevant for the duration of the warranty?

And what can the contractor do about the fact that you currently cannot carry out your desired tests? Your problem area.

One option is to transfer the entire invoice amount as an advance payment. Then the craftsman is satisfied because he has his money and you have not confirmed the legitimacy of the invoice.

For example, leaks in the brine pipe?

That convinces me. If my heat pump arrives only in 3 years, the driller can’t be blamed. Especially since they have finally delivered their performance verifiably with the drilling. Quite different from the screed, where defects may only become apparent after heating.

@all: Many thanks for the feedback!

That’s what I meant. You notice that immediately within one month. For that, it doesn’t matter if the warranty is then one month shorter.
