Hi,

I want to pave a small terrace soon.
Around the edge, I will set differently colored concrete paving stones as border stones.
On the side towards the house wall, I will leave a 15cm gap for a gravel strip (splash guard + frost protection).

Where the door is, of course, I don’t want to continue the gravel strip, but instead bring the border stone line at a 90° angle to the house wall and pave the area in front of the door accordingly right up to the house wall.

I am now wondering what I need and can do there.
The plaster is sealed over the entire length (I can’t say exactly how, it is a reddish (presumably thick) coating). There is no dimpled membrane [Noppenbahn] present there.

Do I simply go with the paving (as mentioned, only in the width of the door) right up to the house wall and fill the joint to the house wall with grit?
Does it have to be something else?

Side question:
Is the absence of a [Noppenbahn] also a poor starting point when filling with gravel in the splash protection layer? I still have enough [Noppenbahn] in stock and could easily pull a strip in beforehand.

Maybe you could take a picture of the situation (?)
My idea so far is that the paving is approximately at floor level, without a difference of one or two steps (?)

please

yes, no step.

in case the question was unclear, here is another attempt:

how do you pave up to the house wall?
- with a thick coating up to almost the top edge of the pavement (3cm less because no additional coating is possible)
- dimpled membrane between pavement and wall and cut close

there is now a gap in the thickness of the dimpled membrane between the pavement and house wall
-> simply put gravel over it and that's it?
-> I would rather not anchor an aluminum profile in the wall.
-> cast concrete onto it?

thank you.

here is an image.

Leave a 2 cm gap, fill it with gravel and that's it.

From the photo, I would say the planned surface should possibly even be laid into the door opening. With paving, that could become a bit too high.

Studded membrane against the house wall, paving up to the studded membrane and then cut flush
