Paving stones on the sidewalk suddenly uneven

Hello, we also had such elevations in a small section of the pavement... I removed some stones and took a look. And lo and behold.. there was a narrow root underneath that could not continue further at the curb, so the root found new paths there and formed thick knots. These now pushed up the paving stones. I then removed the root as best as I could and reset the stones with some fresh sand. Looks great again.. Best regards Steffi.
