Hello, I urgently need competent help.

We have a prefabricated house from the company Schwabenhaus. For the terrace directly at the house, we want to pave it at the same height as the edge of the plinth/house.

However, the house manufacturer specifies that around the house 15cm lower decorative gravel or similar should be used so that no water splashes against the facade.

What guidelines, options, or suggestions are there for this? At the terrace door, I think this is not a problem. Next to it, however, it is. Could the same height be maintained using terrace grates? Who has experience with this?

Thank you very much in advance

There are various options, ranging from a special treatment of the base against rising damp (approx. 300 EUR per running meter) to the grids. If you want to fill up to the house wall at ground level, e.g. for a flush exit from the house to the terrace, it looks better without the grids. However, it is very expensive. Do you have a building surveyor who can advise you? I could at least send you the structure of the sealing via PN, but it should be done by a professional company.

Yes, exactly like in the picture.

Yes, I have also considered the grating. But I can't really find anything suitable. I have looked at the Bdf guidelines again. 300€ per linear meter is quite expensive. I would prefer grids on the terrace (4 or 4.5m) for that reason. Especially since there is an entrance step at the terrace door. (similar to front doors, both were sealed more thoroughly there, moisture can evaporate to the left and right underneath this step)

There is a path running behind the house, and I am also looking for a solution there. A cheap option behind the house would be the 30/15 solution. 15 cm of gravel from the base on a 30 cm wide strip. I just don't know if it will look odd if the paving is then 15 cm higher than the gravel layer.

Our base is only 30 cm high in total as well. We have installed drainage as a precaution. But not much water reaches there.

I can provide pictures this afternoon.

Addendum: We do not have a building surveyor.
