In a steel garage you place value on appearance? Otherwise, I would simply paint them white or gray and don’t forget to install electricity at the same time. With the thin metal walls, you always have to come up with something on how to install outlets and switches.

You can simply screw or glue them on.

Wife Acceptance Factor is probably a joke in a garage.

OT

How do you screw them onto 1mm sheet metal? Then the screw would stick out on the outside.
I think there are different profiles for steel garages. Maybe you have different ones than the OP and me. (take a look at the pictures)

Gluing might work for light switches. For sockets, the force from pulling and pushing would be too great for me.
I cut a piece of OSB board to size, glued it into the steel profile, screwed it on the side just to be safe, and mounted the sockets and switches on it.

You can screw it onto the vertical intermediate profiles. Or the screws just stick out if it’s an invisible side. And there are such great adhesives nowadays, nothing will come off.

That is sheet metal. You screw less to fix something there, I would prefer rivets.
