I am currently wondering whether I should even paint my Red Lime fine plaster?

Basement solid with Poroton, Red Lime primer has already been applied. Ground floor with gypsum fiber boards, diffusion-open wall construction.
In both floors, a felt plaster is to be applied, probably the Red Lime 05. On the ground floor then with a pretreatment with quartz primer. The question now is whether I should paint this plaster again (if so, probably Keim Innotop)? Our acquaintances advise against it because, especially with the 05 plaster, you wouldn’t be able to see the structure at all anymore. The big advantage would, of course, be the saved work and reduced costs. The disadvantage I see might be the flaking over time?

In addition, all ceilings are wallpapered with painter’s fleece and these definitely have to be painted. Would a wallpaper with paint even match the color-wise with the unpainted wall?

I am also torn when it comes to choosing the quartz primer. There is the original from the same manufacturer as the plaster for an incredible amount of money. Then there is a much cheaper competitor product, but they have not published their SD value on the technical data sheet. Upon inquiry, I was confirmed a value of <0.14m. You can believe that or not...

The question - to paint or not - I would postpone to the time when the plaster is on the wall (and dry). The final condition could anticipate the decision.
1. There could be cracks/defects that need to be plastered or filled. Color matching is almost impossible.
2. Depending on the substrate and thickness, the plaster could become patchy from the start and, for example, media lines or ELT channels could show through.
3. Necessary acrylic or expansion joints at windows, etc., also look much better when painted over, as acrylic could otherwise yellow quickly.

Since the ceilings have to be painted anyway, I would prepare yourself to paint everything. If the result is convincing instead: all the better: money and time saved. The choice of a suitable color then at the appropriate time.

You can treat the wall and ceiling differently. However, the felt plaster will certainly not be completely homogeneous, which can also look good. I don't really see the risk of blotchiness as described before, if the preparation was done well. The color from Keim can also be diluted with fixative so that it doesn't fill as much. But with the normal consistency, you will definitely visually change the plaster. And then rather paint with a brush than with a roller. That reduces the changes. We also don't always use the brand products. I don't see a difference for us there. But then we buy own brands from the building material suppliers. I can't speak for any DIY store products.
