A kitchen facing the garden is great if it seems to be the main living area.

I would consider the kitchen living space with double ceiling height and a gallery. That way you can bring a lot of light into the house.

You can also extend the kitchen living space from the building "like a conservatory." That also brings a lot of light.

Are you in a "foreign country" where you seek the light or avoid it in summer?[/QUOTE]

We didn't really want a gallery because we often read that it is rather suboptimal with many children (noise).

I can well imagine pulling the kitchen out again.
Summer = similar to Germany ;)
Won't that then be more expensive than a "straight construction"?

I am with you both times.

You have a large room with windows on 3 sides, on 2 sides very large areas and floor-to-ceiling. Your northeast kitchen will not be dark.

There are acoustic ceilings for noise in the room, we also build those, I probably shouldn't mention the manufacturer.

Acoustic ceilings aren’t exactly cheap, are they? I would do without the gallery. There are 3-4 children planned, so I would rather invest the money in more square meters.
