The handles (about 30 pieces) cost a small fortune at the kitchen studio. So I asked if we could simply leave them out along with the drillings for them and hoped to save a fair amount through doing it myself at this point. Of course, they know that I can get the same handles on the internet for half the price, and so a hefty surcharge is charged (instead of a discount) when I order without handles. I just find that outrageous and an exploitation of the situation. Well, that had to be said...

Best regards, Steffi.

Buy the kitchen at Ikea. The rule is: You get what you pay for.

From your perspective, the annoyance is understandable, but in the production process, even a missing hole is a change in routine that causes effort.

Without handles, but with the holes (and for you the consequence of having to get handles with the same hole spacing) could be an alternative there.

Especially at IKEA, I would have my doubts whether a special request can be made - even if it is "only" one of omission.

Well... that's what the seller argued as well. Still, I am not convinced and consider it a "trick".

I would have liked to get an Ikea kitchen, but unfortunately since "Metod" the smallest height is 91 cm. That is too high for me. Please don't try to persuade me here... no means no. Also, my favorite front was discontinued. Best regards, Steffi.

Hi,

then you still have the option to shorten the Ikea feet and use a countertop that is only 2.8 cm thick. If you don’t want to do that (which is perfectly fine) you mustn’t complain about rip-off methods at the kitchen studio. That’s what they live on...

Or if omitting the drillings is such an extra effort:

Then just have them do the drillings, that saves you a lot of work. Then, according to their own argument, they shouldn’t charge an extra fee.

But for that, you need handles with the exactly same hole distance.

Best regards,

Andreas
