Hello everyone.

I want to order a terrace roof online.

It should be made of aluminum and covered with VSG frosted glass.

We want to do the assembly ourselves!

Do you have tips for good sources? Possibly with an online configurator?

Good availability by e-mail is mandatory. I do everything concerning the house in writing as far as possible.

I would be very grateful for a few tips.

So I don't have a recommendation, but I wonder why you want the roofing with frosted glass? Is it about some kind of "shading" through the frosted glass? If yes, then I would rather go for an additional awning. Otherwise, I can only clearly recommend clear laminated safety glass, as that gives you relatively clear visibility through it.

The frosted glass is supposed to protect a little from the sun. Actually, I would like to save myself the additional awning. I also thought that maybe you wouldn't see the dirt on the roof so much.

Of course, it is a personal decision, but I would definitely go for clear glass myself. If shading is necessary, then via an awning. Frosted glass probably wouldn't provide any real shading in the end, sure maybe a little, but not really. But you sit underneath it and essentially have no real view upwards. It is really nice to sit under the roof and not really have the feeling of having a roof over you. You will see the dirt about just as much, only as dark spots. Maybe you should have a look around to see if you can visit some suitable patio roofs near you.

Online is rubbish, unless the retailer also has showrooms in real life. And as a former aluminum building components manufacturer, I tell you this: only order the stuff online if you can also order an assembly team online. The material is too noble to be devalued by DIY overconfidence. It’s light but stiff – you won’t be able to bend anything into shape if the Ikea Allen key doesn’t quite do the trick.

P.S.: I don’t (anymore) know where he got it from, but to my recollection landed a really decent conservatory.

I have practically already decided in my mind on Schweng GmbH.

They deliver and install a 7x4m terrace roof in RAL7016 with 8mm VSG glass for €5150.

Consultation via e-mail has been very good so far.
