Hello,
I am currently planning a single-family house with a gable roof (38 degrees) and would like to hear your opinion here... or if I have made any major mistakes. Since I have very little space on the plot in the south, I would like to build a fairly narrow house, where the kitchen and living area + dining open to the south. The living room currently has a width of 4.3 m, the kitchen 4 m. The kitchen could possibly also be completely separated by a wall (perhaps a load-bearing wall will be needed there?). On the upper floor, there is a nice large hallway and 4 approximately equally sized rooms as well as a storage room. Would you do something different with the arrangement of the living room windows? The dining table should be in front of a floor-to-ceiling window, then there should be another one to step out through. I don’t know if this window above the sofa is cozy, but I haven’t found any other good position yet. To the west, a house borders directly, from which the windows could be easily overlooked.
I am also considering which knee wall height to choose, oscillating between 1.25, 1.37, and 1.5 m. Do you really see such big differences there? In any case, the exterior wall will be very high, and I don’t want the house to look too "long-legged."
Explanation of the floor plans: The dimensions are from wall center to wall center, so they do not correspond to the interior wall dimensions (subtract about 20 cm). The kitchen/dining room/living room is located in the south - kitchen therefore SE, living room SW).
Maybe you have some good suggestions for me. Thanks!
