Hi everyone,
we are currently sampling our windows and they come standard with 2 mushroom head pins. This is described as "einbruchshemmend".
Would you basically keep the number of mushroom head pins as is?
Would you generally increase the number and if so, how many?
Or would you only increase it on the ground floor or the easily accessible windows?

Thank you very much!

From experience, this is a very personal decision. While some answer the question about the number of bolts with "All!", others sleep with the front door open. We have used a reasonable number of [Pilzkopfzapfen] and [RC2] windows on the ground floor. On the upper floor, we used regular glass due to the height.

Thank you for your response. Would you please also explain what you understand by a "reasonable number"? Thank you!

I think 2 is reasonable, my wife insisted on a higher number. I didn’t remember it for the first reason. :)

The window itself is already burglar-resistant. It's just a question of how long it will resist.
The number of mushroom head locking pins actually depends on the size of the windows. Most dealers call what you get a "basic protection". I couldn't even select that option for mine. The dealer sold more mushroom head locking pins as the standard. This is usually called "enhanced protection" or something similar.
For example, for a 1m x 1m window, I have 7 mushroom head locking pins. Appropriate fittings were also installed. So an RC2N window. As I said, I actually didn't want that, but it was standard.

My opinion: 2 pieces are sufficient. If you have concerns, upgrade. But then do it properly and not something halfway. The mushroom head locking pins are only one component. The window has other parts as well, such as simple or more burglar-resistant fittings or security glass.
And on the upper floor, which is not accessible from the outside, it doesn't matter at all whether any protection is installed.

Regardless of the window size? I also know it like this: A 2x1 m window has 10 mushroom head pins with us, the mini guest WC window 3. That was the standard with our supplier in 2008. Just like the concealed fittings and the patented locking mechanism in the handle.
