A short update today:

I wasn’t able to reach the responsible caseworker, but I did get hold of a colleague at the land registry office. It does indeed seem that, based on aerial photographs, it was determined that in addition to the already shown garage there is another building. Our metal garage! This must also be recorded. Typical German thoroughness ;) .

The costs depend on the year of construction. The older it is, the cheaper. We can expect 300-400€. Quite something! An in-ground pool is excluded; it really only concerns buildings. It also doesn’t matter whether there is a permit or if the construction is permit-free.

By the way, several other homeowners in our area are affected.

I suspected as much! Google Earth!

The municipalities fly themselves with airplanes and drones. There is also now very good software to determine property boundaries, etc.
