Of course, do not forget the disposable cone filter beforehand.

I am one step further. I have received the aforementioned silencers and made a shocking discovery during installation. Our fan valves are from Helios and until now I assumed that there was no filter inside. Now I have removed the first exhaust valve and was shocked to find about 2 cm thick dust on the fleece mat inside, no joke. Since the exhaust valves are in the bathrooms, this dust is more like wax. After the initial shock, I cleaned everything up and the ventilation system has become so quiet that I only installed the silencers in the bedroom and returned the rest.

that is why the note in #12 that the filter inserts should be easy to maintain.

I have been using disposable filter inserts (fleece mat) for years by carefully rinsing them in water with surfactants until they are white again. Just shake off the water lightly, do not wring! and reinstall (still damp). When the ventilation is running, it dries quickly again.

We were wondering for a while about a quiet whistling noise coming from the intake holes. Then we also came up with the brilliant idea to replace them. And voila, everything is quiet again. Especially at the beginning, they get clogged quite quickly. Outside, the garden is not done yet, there is a construction site next door, and our own construction is still kicking up a bit more dust.

It was exactly the same with us. At the beginning, there was still a lot of construction going on around, the road was still a construction road with corresponding dust development, the garden was not finished yet, and parquet was still being cut inside the house, some holes were drilled, etc. In addition, there is the location in the middle of greenery where a lot is also blooming. The large filter in the ventilation system itself, which filters the fresh air, had to be changed every three months. I just didn’t realize until now that the exhaust vents inside the house also have filters. Basically, only the kitchen was properly vacuumed (obviously there were filters there), and it was extremely loud there.

I also occasionally hand wash a fleece filter cone with a little detergent and plenty of water if I forgot to reorder replacements, but: I would recommend hanging the filters on the clothes dryer first and only reinstalling them when dry. Unnecessary moisture and pipes that are not really accessible would not be a good combination in my opinion. And yes, I also change more often than recommended, whenever the noise level gets noticeable to me. It’s really done quickly. Of course, turn off the system first or activate filter change mode so that no unnecessary dust enters the exhaust system.
