Hello everyone,
can someone tell me something about the current quality of SCAN stoves, has anyone had negative experiences lately or is from the industry and knows the background? According to our dealer, the quality of SCAN isn’t good anymore...

We bought a SCAN 50 Maxi in 2009 and were completely satisfied. Burning behavior, function, appearance - all top. Now we are moving and need a stove with storage capability. Before upgrading the 50, there should be a new one. Especially since the 50 already found a new owner within the family.

With the firm intention of buying a SCAN 83 or 85 now, we went to 'our' dealer this week. However: no SCAN stoves offered anymore. The quality had massively declined, complaints had increased. They could no longer recommend a SCAN with a clear conscience. Sales had declined and they then parted ways. That may be true. But it could also be that the profit margin on other stoves is currently higher. I don’t know.

What irritates me:

[*]Why can I not find any negative reviews online?

[*]And why, in turn, do some dealers actually no longer offer SCAN stoves?

Does anyone here know anything? Thanks for the help...

Hmm, what could I add to that besides the picture...

Seriously? It's a stove and it makes warmth. With Kfw55 insulation in a medium-sized living room, it also gets very warm.

Unfortunately, the same or similar everywhere: The Danes (or rather Norwegians) are certainly not exactly cheap labor countries. Accordingly, the prices are also somewhat higher. You said it exactly: sales declined. Of course, you can't compare the stove with an Eastern European product that is sold off at half price on eBay or wwi. But: stinginess is cool, unfortunately. Well, and what some sales strategists then come up with by putting these quality stoves in the hardware store, only they themselves know...

Thanks for your answers!

However, , I can't really make anything of your post... What are you trying to tell me? It's neither about the price nor about the comparison with an Eastern European product (the alternatives recommended by the dealer are Olsberg, Morsö and HWAM). I am just questioning his statement about SCAN stoves ...

Oven owners rarely have different ovens, and certainly not at the same time...

We are satisfied, built in 05/2015, and I have not been able to detect any rust so far. But I also don't know if 8 months is a sufficient period to identify rust on an oven. The only drawback, which seems to be due to the construction of the oven, is that the glass cleaning does not work 100% in the top left and right corners; the soot has to be removed manually from time to time.

Oh man, do you always have to compare everything to the auto industry? So, there is a manufacturer, let's call him Popel. He says, I have to thin out my dealer network, or rather, I only want dealers who sell at least 500 new vehicles per year. Then the dealer with 100 becomes suddenly stupid. So this dealer, if he still wants to sell Popel, has to turn to the next bigger dealer (the one with 500) and buy from him, not directly anymore. This way, a multi-level distribution channel is created. The manufacturer then has only one point of contact and not two anymore. The problem is, for the small dealer, it becomes uninteresting, because the big one takes some of his margin. So he no longer feels like selling Popel but sells Ria or something instead.
