No, f-pNo; I just recently bought the property, construction will take place next year. I am currently compiling what all should go into the house. And since I want to buy as little coal and nuclear power as possible, I am taking a closer look at the matter of photovoltaics and storage and also asking here in the forum. I have already learned quite a lot here. We do not have a problem with financing; that’s the only reason I’m even thinking about the battery. Maybe something will change with prices/usable capacity by next year; we’ll see. Thanks for your heat pump figures, I also want to build with a ground probe heat pump. Regards Bernd

Photovoltaics are not the only way to reach 100% green electricity. Many providers offer pure green electricity for 1ct/kWh in addition to the usual electricity mix. Some providers no longer have any electricity mix at all.

Nuclear and lignite electricity is mostly used in industry.

The electricity price has not actually increased, but only due to legal framework conditions. This cannot be expanded indefinitely.

1998: 17.11 ct/kWh, of which 0.08 ct/kWh taxes and surcharges = 17.03 ct/kWh without taxes and surcharges
2016: 28.69 ct/kWh, of which 9.27 ct/kWh taxes and surcharges = 19.42 ct/kWh without taxes and surcharges

14% real inflation over 18 years, so less than 1 percent per year.

According to long-term forecasts, the Renewable Energy Act surcharge will decrease again. The current feed-in rates have dropped sharply recently, few new systems are being installed, and old systems are being phased out. More precisely, it is supposed to go downhill rapidly from 2024.

Hysteria or fear of constantly rising electricity prices is therefore unfounded. A well-insulated house with a ground-source heat pump, plus energy-saving appliances (if you buy new anyway) and lighting, means you have actually done a lot for low ancillary costs in the long term.

@ Grym: That’s exactly how I want to build and a little "model railway" - that is, photovoltaics with battery - will also be included. I just handle the electricity cost calculation differently: 1998: I had to pay 17 ct/kWh out of my own pocket - no matter to whom or why. 2016: I have to pay 29 ct/kWh out of my own pocket, no matter to whom or why. That is about 70% more for my wallet than in 1998... just imagine continuing like this into the future. In 18 years I will not have 70% more income than today - if I am even alive then... But it’s all good, this forum here is meant for the exchange of thoughts and I already read many experiences and opinions here that are helpful. Best regards Bernd

You did not understand what Grym wanted to tell you. The price increase is final, or rather, it will slow down. They simply cannot keep adding more and more taxes on it.

I have very well understood what he thinks; only I am already too old to believe it. Taxes can always and everywhere be increased, depending on the cash situation. How often have taxes and additional charges on electricity (and other things) been reduced? for the end consumer in the last 20, 30 years? I really don’t want to get political, but: What do you actually think, who will one day pay for all these Renewable Energy Act stories, discounts for large consumers, new power lines, the dismantling of nuclear power plants, final storage, etc.? I believe: The "normal small" end consumer via further charges, surcharges and so on. And I want to keep myself out of it as much as possible in the long term. Everyone just has their own opinion about the future...
