New Ikea Domsjö sink does not fit

Dear Ikea Netties, I urgently need help: Our 18-month-old domsjö suddenly developed a crack after draining the pasta water. Ikea immediately promised free replacement and installation. So far so good: The sink was replaced. When the installers finished, I noticed that they had cut a piece off the paneling. The new Domsjö sink is apparently a bit deeper and therefore doesn’t fit. The installers were at a loss. Ikea itself is also at a loss. Does anyone here have the same problem? I would appreciate an answer. I would like to attach a photo. Is that possible? Have the installers ever measured the height of the old and new basin? Leaving the cut edge open under the sink really is not an option. Moisture cannot be avoided there, and it won't be long before the consequences become visible.
