yeah sure, but for him it's also an underground garage, then upstairs, then away etc.

maybe a few steps less, but still more stressful

although almost all XXXLLLL complexes in metropolitan areas have such a hassle

I preferred to park on the street rather than in the underground garage in the old residential complex. Fewer fire protection doors in the way with full hands.

For a temporary solution, I would rather not go through the stress of moving, organizing, and dealing with a loan. Especially since you would probably have to get rid of the loan or move with it for a new property in 5-10 years. I’m not familiar with it, which would already be a hurdle for me if I want to move somewhere else in the medium term anyway. ;-)

Why do you call a terraced house a starter property?

For the already mentioned reason that in the medium term we want to build a detached single-family house and, on the other hand, are currently only temporarily dependent on financing for the terraced end house (no, not an inheritance or anything like that).

The parking situation is common in many townhouse developments. It would simply be a shame to block the few green spaces between the houses even more with cars.

Depending on its characteristics, a townhouse could, in the worst case, be considered a condominium. For example, no private land, only usage rights, a partition agreement for the underground garage and access paths, etc. Official regulations: uniform facade color, owners' meetings, Mr. Mayer did not clear the path again last winter when it was his turn, Mr. Müller is obstructing the selection of the new facade color, the sewer shaft is constantly clogged because of Mr. Schmidt, and so on. That really feels like living in a multi-family building...

Ok, is there a good chance in the future to get a larger plot of land for the single-family house?

I am not a fan of interim solutions.

Until today, I have lived in a 78 m2 apartment and have now invested in something larger once. I did not intend to move again.
