Move the fence

Hello. We are about to buy a house in Brandenburg and not build one. I hope this is not a problem here in the house-building forum. ;) Now it is so that the fence is about two meters in front of the actual property boundary on the property. I would like to build the fence exactly on the boundary. Can I simply take the measurements from the survey plan and build the fence there, or do I have to order a surveyor to mark the boundary and make the whole thing official. Regards Sandro....

Ideally, you have boundary stones that delimit the property. With an older house, you have to search for them a bit because they may be overgrown or covered with soil. Then you naturally don’t need a new survey, since a fence does not indicate an official boundary, but the boundary stones are valid (provided they have not been illegally moved). However, it may be that the fence was not allowed to be built on the property boundary due to the [B-Plan]. You can check this in the official development plan.
