Good morning,

so as I understand , the main question is whether you can finish the house with the loan? I would rather move this topic to another section here and clarify it there.

At current prices, it is possible that the house will not be completed, + additional financing will be required = consequence: instead of €1200 maybe €1400 monthly burden = less money left over = standard of living decreases...

How is the construction planned? On your own? Or turnkey through a developer? What kind of buffer have you built in?

I'll ask the question the other way around. Assuming that the installment is really around 1200 EUR and you can build everything with it, what alternatives do you have? Depending on the region, a rental apartment for a family of five costs roughly the same amount of money. Mind you, with rising rent... So what is the more sensible option of the two? Now tightening the belt a bit and investing in your own house or higher quality of life (yes, a flexible term) and possibly being rent-free in 30 years, or paying double rent with half a pension in 30 years (if there even is one)?

Good luck with making the right decision.
