I decided not to buy a Thermomix after all. The Omniblend V is already within the price range. Are these actually the things that are also capable of crushing phones? :D

The Thermomix crushes almost everything, including stones. Probably even cell phones.

It turns crystal sugar into powdered sugar, grains into flour, and ice into, well... powder snow.

Unfortunately, it costs quite a bit more than a Vitamix.

Yes, that's true. And I'm not a sales consultant.... ...but the resale value is enormous. Just look on eBay what a 4 or 5 year old, but well-maintained TM31 is still worth. You can still get a good 500 euros or more for it. In that respect, the risk was worth it to me and it has paid off for us. Of course, everyone has to decide that for themselves.
