I have mounted 2 wall cabinets ME 343 (W60xH40xD38.8) side by side on the wall. The extractor hood Utdrag is installed in the left cabinet, and there are also power outlets there. In the right cabinet, I would like to integrate a microwave. I would like to use the BEJUBLAD in white, but unfortunately it is too deep! As an alternative, I have now chosen the HUSHÅLLA in stainless steel.

But is that even possible? The dimensions should fit, but the assembly instructions only provide for "higher" cabinets.

Is this a problem of heat dissipation/ventilation or is there another issue? Has anyone done this before?

Hello, that must be a design problem. HELANDE cannot be installed at the bottom because if you insert a shelf at the bottom, there is no longer enough space. HELANDE probably cannot be properly installed at the top either.

The easiest way: place the freestanding microwave in the cabinet. If your cabinet door opens upwards, you can operate the microwave perfectly and when finished, close the door and nothing is visible anymore. We have 2 kitchens in our house where the microwave is in the cabinet (they are tall cabinets, but basically the same). Advantage: you are not dependent on the relatively expensive built-in appliances.

Yes, it seems to be a design problem. I would have to leave out the bottom; without HELANDE it would look quite shabby (probably not flush at the bottom, definitely not at the top). I would then have to have matching covers made. A side view of HUSHÅLLA with the exact measurements would be quite useful...

How is the ventilation solved with Ikea cabinet/microwave? Back panel removed, or over the 8 or 10mm that you have to saw off at the back of the top cover according to the instructions?

Have you ever installed the Siemens? Does it fit without problems?

Freestanding unit behind the door would be an option, but it will be tight, not least because of the Utrusta hinges at the top.

Our microwave is also housed in a cabinet with a lift hinge. It's a very cheap Aldi microwave (we don't need it that often), but there is absolutely no problem with the width. If you want to put a freestanding microwave in there, depth is more important when housing it in an upper cabinet. Basically, you have a lot of options there. Ventilation doesn't really matter either. After use, just wait until the microwave has cooled down, then close the microwave door and the cabinet door, and that's that.

Example of a Medion countertop microwave: "Do not place any objects on the microwave. For sufficient ventilation, a clearance of 30 cm must be maintained above and 20 cm on both sides."

I have no experience with the Siemens device. The height of the frame is specified as 38 cm. This leaves 1 cm of the cabinet free at the top and bottom. The frame can certainly be centered by screwing a wooden board of appropriate thickness to the bottom. You can download the installation manual from Siemens.
