There are many different types of mice. In the garden shed, where they once attacked the crocuses prepared for planting, I caught four species in one day. House mice eat food prepared by humans, field mice do not. Field mice only eat what occurs in nature. Our field mice leave all human food alone, but for example, they take freshly shelled walnuts. That smells good and they know it. We succeed in catching them with live traps, with snap traps they steal the bait out with delicate paws without triggering the trap. Good luck!
