I also find the wording of the email completely okay. After all, we are in a business relationship here with a value of several 100,000 euros. Such wording should definitely be interpreted professionally, which the site manager apparently did here.

The plumbing specialist also caused the problem. He is responsible for the base pipe and commissioned a subcontractor.

The pipes above the base slab are not professionally installed. DN 100 must be laid.

One can also email like this.

Unfortunately, as already communicated by phone today, I had to determine that the wastewater pipes in the base slab are displaced by approximately 1.10 m from the construction plan. I assume that you will arrange to correct this error. Please understand that as the client I will not accept the current state and insist on the construction execution and planning agreed upon contractually between us.

You can issue a warning if construction continues despite a mistake and the invoice is in the mail. The site manager merely brushed it off casually, but after being pointed out, he still has to take a look first. Therefore, in my opinion, there is no reason to write a reminder. As the client, you have the right to a properly constructed house. Only sometimes, I correct myself, often rework is necessary. This means that the client must also sometimes keep quiet, say a little, but wait until something can be fixed. Always coming straight away with a defect and a stop work order is wrong. But according to this forum, every second person runs immediately to the lawyer.

I don't want a construction stop or a lawyer either. I just want a house without defects or with very minor defects. For that, I am paying a six-figure amount. I only realized that the site manager does not fulfill his duties > supervision. He was there and did not notice the mistake.

I understood that you only had the conversation with him last Friday.

Anyway: being careful is good! And if you have the chance to check more often, check. But I would aim for a more defensive approach and see if people don't come to it themselves. Of course, relent before it's too late.

Surely you also don't want your boss to criticize and admonish your work before the file is closed, the customer is contacted, or the product moves to the next line.
