I am planning a bungalow (120sqm living space) and am considering positioning the WLAN router as centrally as possible in the house. I had the idea to install it in the attic because it is not visible there. Does anyone know if the drywall ceiling plus 24 cm of mineral wool strongly block the WLAN signals down into the house? Thank you very much for your answers.

The drywall ceiling itself is not the problem. The problem with drywall construction is rather the metal studs or metal-coated insulation mats.

Should not be a problem...but of course it all depends on the router...

Hello,
we initially also thought about installing the technology under the roof. However, since our roof is not insulated, the technology would slowly start to melt in summer at temperatures over 30°C. Therefore, we decided against it. This is just a tip before you pull the cables and then face the same problem.

Hello kaho674,

I haven't thought about that at all yet. Thank you.

But 30 degrees should still be bearable for the router, right?

Well, but under a roof like that, it can quickly get up to 50°C, depending on the location.
