Local architect as an alternative to the construction company's architect

I’m somehow getting confused with the dimensions right now. Both semi-detached houses together are supposed to be 15 m long - does that mean one semi-detached house would have a width of 7.5 m? And the width of the house you mention would then be the length of one DHH, so 8.7 m?
