Hello, we want to install the floor coverings on the upper floor in our new building - construction starting now - as a DIY project (exception: bathroom). Upstairs there is a hallway, from which two children's rooms and the parents' area with a dressing room branch off.

Now we are unsure about the flooring. We want to avoid laminate, and vinyl as well ... we don't want an artificial floor covering but rather something natural. That's when the idea of cork came to us, but we don't like the classic cork pattern.

Do you have any ideas or what have you installed?

Regards

Search on Google for Designkorkböden. Cork floors now come in all kinds of designs.

Hello, It is important with underfloor heating to consider the insulating effect of the upper floor covering. Carpet, floorboards, parquet..., partially significantly hinder the heat emission to the room to be heated. The underfloor heating becomes more expensive and less energy efficient. This must be taken into account when sizing the heating surfaces. Regards

Laminate is better suited for underfloor heating than parquet. There are very beautiful patterns that look as natural as parquet. If you're interested in which ones I mean, feel free to send a PM. They cost about 25 - 29 euros per m2.

We will wait and see which parquet or wooden floorboards we choose for the ground floor and how they are priced. That would be our first choice. If it becomes too expensive, we will also take cork. We don't know the look yet, but even with the classic cork pattern there are big differences.
