Then make them separately switchable and have light when you need to get things out of the tall cabinets.

much too much.

Then a work lamp should be sufficient.

You will have a hole in the ceiling for each spotlight.

Ceiling spotlights are not suitable as work lights. They either set accents and/or serve for seamless room lighting when you are looking for something, tinkering, or need the room brightly lit for other reasons.
In the hallway, for example, 3 or 4 pieces of 3-4 watt LED are sufficient.

So one on the table or what is meant by a work light?

-----------------------------------

- One could remove the 4 that were for the PC corner and plan these between the wall cabinets and the island?

- remove the 4 above the dining table and plan pendant lights instead?

You have to work with softboxes anyway when recordings are made.

Thank you

I just thought of something ... if recordings are ever to take place at the dining table, e.g. for FAQ videos, then the pendant lights might possibly be distracting in the video?

That is interesting that your wife produces videos about cooking. For this purpose, I consider specially designed video lighting to be ideal. It is set up and taken down again, and the lighting is always right. Using ceiling lighting for filming is, in my opinion, the worse solution. Moreover, especially with food, there are light sources with color temperatures that make the food appear particularly natural and fresh – simply having a high CRI is not enough. Such special lighting, however, is not cozy. You can find information about this from professional lighting suppliers such as Ansorg.

When choosing the many ceiling lights, be sure to use glare-free lamps, otherwise you won’t like to turn on the light.

At first, we wanted that, but then we read that it doesn't help, meaning that lights from the ceiling are rather counterproductive for it, softboxes are always used during the recordings.

I might still plan a row behind the island.
