Thank you very much for the response, sorry, I did not describe it exactly. I have sliding doors without dampers and of course I have installed the spacer pieces / distance holders. Unfortunately, neither the Ikea hotline (works or not) could tell me what the cause might be or what the sensors react to, nor the specialist from the lighting department (she was very nice & we tried some others there – they also did not work properly). The LED lamp flickers / turns on and off when the cabinet is open without any recognizable reason. Maybe someone else has an idea. Best regards Polo

Have you ever test-lit the sensor directly with a lamp to see if the thing still turns on and off?

With one LED light strip that works, nothing happens (either it is on or off) but with the one that flickers, nothing happens with one sensor & with the other one it goes off when you shine on it. What does that mean?

I have now found the solution for how to trick the light strip when the light does not automatically turn on when opening the cabinet door.

You also do not need to use spacers for the sliding door cabinet!

The LED strip must be directed inside the cabinet, so towards the back. Then there are two small peep holes at the front (probably the sensors). These are surrounded by a small plastic piece, about 1 cm² in size. If you carefully remove this plastic piece, you can move the peep holes. You have to position them towards the cabinet door and voilà, the light turns on and off automatically.

Unfortunately, I did not see any information about this in the instructions. I only discovered it by chance when I wanted to completely remove the light strip and accidentally slipped with the screwdriver, hitting the plastic piece and suddenly being in the light.

Best regards Kara Mia
