Tell that to the Swedes.
But yes, I would nowadays also prefer solid construction.

So here in Northern Hesse there are half-timbered houses lying around that are 400 years old and older. And often without proper foundations, without protection against rising damp, and built with the most primitive means.

Today’s timber frame buildings, if well made, are superior to simple brick buildings in almost every respect. Only in terms of thermal mass and ceiling sound insulation do they have to yield.

But to reach the energy efficiency of a timber frame building, a considerable effort must be made in solid construction and thick walls must be accepted.

Of course, I would include the sale of the property as a condition in the construction contract, and there will be no payment on my part as long as the priority notice of conveyance has not been made.

Believe me, you are not the only one who was that clever. By the way, have you ever informed yourself about Massa Haus? They have earned their reputation hard. Massa Haus belongs to DFH. Deleting criticism is part of their daily routine. Nevertheless, groups have come together on Facebook and are reporting.
