Liaplan - Does anyone know the stone?

I know expanded clay and have worked with precast walls made from this material in earlier years. The U-value mentioned in the first post corresponds to the current standard and can also be found in aerated concrete as well as in hollow brick. So I would see no reason why the use of expanded clay in house construction should be opposed.

OK, thanks. That means I basically can't do anything wrong with the stone. It's really just about preferences... As I said, it is important to me to have my peace and quiet. If you say that with a 36.5cm stone nothing can be heard (unless you have bad doors/windows), then ok. KS is heavier, so probably better for interior walls, so you don’t hear everything from the next room. On the other hand, only family members live in the house. I think you bother each other less than if they were strangers. So I just have to decide whether I prefer KS with a Styrofoam casing or hollow stones, where the Styrofoam is just in the cavities....
