Hello everyone,

today we started with the workshop planning and the tenders for the shell construction are starting now :)

We have now placed 4 LED spots in the bathroom, 5 in the hallway, 1 in the living room, and 8 in the kitchen.
Can you recommend spots to us? Philips would be great. However, there are tons on the site and we don’t know exactly what to pay attention to.
Beam angle? Minimum?
Warm or cool white?
Possibly dimmable in the bathroom.

We would be very grateful for tips :)

A little tip: just go old-fashioned to a good hardware store and get advice. They have a bigger selection than the furniture stores, which are more familiar with real lamps. The orange Jippieh hardware store was able to help us. Because you have to see the lamps for yourself.

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm that. We went to a hardware store and "got advice". We installed 9 LED spots (230 volts) for a 35 sqm studio. The brightness is just enough for us. It’s okay for an office + guest room. If it were our living room, I would have installed different ones by now. The calculation of beam angle, wattage, light color is not so easy with LED lamps. Good lamp stores do something like that - but of course it costs money.

At a 35-degree beam angle, a maximum of 2 sqm is very well illuminated. We choose warm white (we find it nicer) and the 230V lamps from Philipps to avoid using the transformer. At 60 degrees, a correspondingly larger area is illuminated.

That is a topic in itself, and in my experience, unfortunately neither the hardware store nor the furniture store nor - yes, it sounds bad, but that's how it is - the lighting specialty shop is able to provide comprehensive and competent advice. Anyone who has dealt with the subject a bit on the internet probably knows more than the average lighting salesperson - in all the above-mentioned stores. Sure, there are also real experts, but unfortunately you have to look for them with a magnifying glass. :-/ It should be noted that actually not only lamps/downlights/spots are needed but a lighting CONCEPT - which virtually none of the salespeople has ever questioned. At best, the electrician was helpful.

If you are interested, let me know, then I will give you one or two links to lamps which in my opinion are really good (and not just inexpensive or possibly simply currently in the range). I assume that you are looking for lamps to be installed in the ceiling and that the corresponding preparations have already been made.

Best regards

PS: The parameters you mentioned are all relevant, but it is difficult to answer in general because the concept must be supported and not just any values achieved.

can you send me the links? That would be great! :-)

We're starting with the electrical planning now and are still a bit undecided and overwhelmed. LED spots everywhere or only in the kitchen and possibly the living room? Individual lamps with individual switches or rather suspended ceilings with indirect lighting and two different lighting scenarios + switches?

How much do recessed spots in a concrete filigree ceiling cost? I've heard it’s rather expensive since the ceiling manufacturer has to consider the cutouts already during production?
